Simple Things
Hello there. It’s been a while since we last talked, and even though I’ve been gone, you’ve not been forgotten. Between the changes of life that inevitably come, those known and unknown tears in the fabric of time, there lies the simplicity of one foot in front of the other. This is a tireless dedication to a simple idea: ever onward, ever forward. However, you need a break every so often, so that is where this last week took me.
Between starting a new job, all the myriads of online training and associated “death by a thousand cuts,” I needed a break from the intentional writing. I can honestly say that after a long week, I miss it more than I would have thought; almost like a piece was missing from my every day. So, while today may not be a longer post, it certainly is one step back in the direction from whence I came, a re-commitment to the path for another few months, and an acknowledgement that I recognize the role I have to play here.
So, with all that said, enjoy the flowers found under a concrete table in some random picnic area off a rural road. I found their delicacy exquisite and upturned buds to be the perfect amount of eye bleach to an endless news cycle of depravity and demagoguery. I hope you find your own collection of beautiful things and enjoin the same realization as I about needing a break every now and then.
May it ever be so.
